CSU Dominguez Hills is on the cutting edge of sustainability efforts by an urban campus, and is actively providing leadership in engaging faculty, students and staff in on-campus sustainability efforts. We are looking at ways to increase partnerships and funding to support the educational, research, and public service missions of the university as they relate to sustainability.

Staff, faculty, and students are all encouraged to attend and participate as committee members. There are currently 40+ members from all areas of campus.

The Office of Sustainability is managed by a full-time sustainability coordinator, and is part of Facilities Services. There are also 9 part-time student interns working for the Office of Sustainability, 8 of whom are paid through a combination of campus and outside grant funds.

Sustainability efforts are spearheaded by the full-time Sustainability Coordinator with stakeholder support from the campus-wide Sustainability Committee.

The Office of Sustainability recently earned a statewide best practice award for Data Driven Communications outreach at the 2018 California Higher Ed Sustainability Conference. Other accomplishments are listed in the Office of Sustainability's annual report.
