CSU, Chico follows CSU Systemwide policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, sexual misconduct, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. The CSU is committed to maintaining and implementing employment policies and procedures that comply with applicable state and federal nondiscrimination and affirmative action laws and regulations. CSU, Chico follows CSU Systemwide policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, sexual misconduct, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. The process for investigating and responding to complaints are outlined in the Interim CSU Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Sexual Exploitation, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Stalking, and Retaliation (https://calstate.policystat.com/policy/10926024/latest).

In summary, campuses will respond to all complaints and take appropriate action to prevent, correct, and discipline conduct that violates the Systemwide Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (EO 1097). All complaints will be reported to the DHR Administrator (Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation) or Title IX Coordinator (Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Dating and Domestic Violence, and Stalking). The date of receipt shall be deemed to be the Complaint filing date. The DHR Administrator/Title IX Coordinator shall offer reasonable accommodations to Students who are unable to submit a Complaint because of a qualified Disability. Complainants also have the option to initiate an Early Resolution Process if they would like to explore whether their complaint can be resolved by the university without an investigation. For complaints that do not pursue the Early Resolution Process, the university will investigate the complaint, whether or not, a formal written complaint is submitted. Under guidance from CSU Executive Orders, those who have experienced or witnessed a bias incident, act of discrimination or hate crime at CSU, Chico can receive support from the Title IX Coordinator and the Director of EODR. The University will respond to all Complaints and will take appropriate action to prevent, correct, and discipline conduct that is in violation of CSU Executive Orders. When an allegation of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation has been reported, the appropriate DHR Administrator will reach out and respond to the complaint immediately. The Human Resources Service Center’s Equal Opportunity and Dispute Resolution (EODR) provides training and assistance to the campus to implement and adhere to all policies, laws, and regulations relating to Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR). EODR also investigates and responds to staff, faculty, and students claims of discrimination and harassment. CSU, Chico has an Executive Memorandum (EM 06-038) for University Equal Opportunity Employment Committee. The University Equal Employment Opportunity Committee promotes equal employment opportunity by reviewing policies, procedures, reports, and practices that address illegal workplace discrimination, harassment, and other barriers to equal employment opportunity. The Committee may deal with observations of general satisfactory or unsatisfactory trends resulting from the implementation of policies, procedures, reports, and practices. The CSU’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) provides admission, academic and financial support services to historically underserved students throughout California. The primary goal of the EOP is to improve access of low-income, first generation and historically disadvantaged students with potential for academic success by making higher education a possibility.

EOP provides a comprehensive program of support services which include, but are not limited to, recruitment, pre-admission counseling, orientation, summer program, diagnostic testing, financial aid follow-up, special admissions, pre-introductory instruction, academic advisement, tutoring, learning skill services, and personal, educational and career counseling.

NASPA Undergraduate Fellowship Program: The mission of the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program is to increase the number of historically disenfranchised and underrepresented professionals in student affairs and/or higher education, including but not limited to those of racial and ethnic-minority background; those having a disability; and those identifying as LGBTQ. By mentoring students from traditionally underrepresented and historically disenfranchised populations, this semi-structured program diversifies and broadens the pipeline of our profession. Students and mentors apply as a pair. The CSU's Pre-Doctoral Program has granted the Sally Casanova scholarship to over 2254 low-income and educationally disadvantaged students throughout the CSU, the majority of whom are first-generation college students. For the 2019-20 academic year, 74 new scholars will join this group representing 16 of the 23 CSU campuses. The California Pre-Doctoral Program is designed to increase diversity within the pool of university faculty by supporting the doctoral aspirations of students in the CSU--with particular support for low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. Awardees of this scholarship represent juniors, seniors, and master’s level students who come from a variety of academic disciplines. Each of these scholars are mentored by a faculty member from their respective campus.
