A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
The main campus is located in Camarillo, CA. The campus also owns most of the property surrounding the building footprints and roads around the main university campus. The campus boundary consists of undeveloped land, including Channel Islands Park and Round Mountain.
Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? | Included? | |
Agricultural school | No | No |
Medical school | No | No |
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) | No | No |
Museum | No | No |
Satellite campus | Yes | No |
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | No | No |
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | No | No |
Hospital | No | No |
The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
The satellite campus consists of one building in Goleta, CA that is minimally used and is not under the university's operational control, therefore we do not include it in utility reporting nor emissions reporting. The campus also owns land that has private housing adjacent to campus that is not included within the institutional boundary, as the university does not have access to energy data for the homes and apartments on the property. Finally, we have chosen to exclude data for CI Power, the cogeneration power facility located on campus property, as it is currently being managed by an external company. CI Power serves as a peaker plant for the utility company.
