A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
In Spring 2018, California State University Channel Islands (Channel Islands) administered a Diversity Learning Environments Survey to students and a Staff Climate Survey to employees by Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) asking faculty, staff, administrators, and students their perceptions of their overall employment/educational satisfaction and their experiences with campus diversity and inclusion efforts. These surveys were designed to understand and compare perceptions in relation to the institutional climate and diversity on campus.
Raw data was received by the campus in the summer and analysis of the data was conducted throughout the fall semester and into the spring 2019 semester. The final report was sent to the campus on March 1, 2019.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
Campus-wide conversations are occurring within each of the Divisions as well as being led by the President’s Advisory Council for Inclusive Excellence to discuss results and determine actions to address deficits found within the report. The first cross-divisional conversation was held in May of 2019 and six additional conversations were held in the fall semester.
