The Library hosts and maintains an institutional repository that makes versions of journal articles, book chapters, and other peer-reviewed scholarly works by its employees and students freely available on the public internet to support Green Open Access; the library actively performs improvements on this system and will be migrating to a newer platform within the month.

CSU Channel Islands also participates with Cal State Open Journals that provides hosting for journals created and managed by The California State University. Cal State Open Journals includes several open access journals, including:

-The PUMP Journal of Undergraduate Research
-Journal of Transformative Leadership & Policy Studies
-Californian Journal of Health Promotion
