A brief description of the institution’s bicycle program, including the year the award was achieved and/or renewed:
CSUB achieved Bicycle Friendly University-Bronze Status in 2015. CSU Bakersfield actively participates in expanding bicycle programs and bike paths on campus and in the surrounding community. The university launched the Runner Ride bike share program in 2015. This program, managed out of the Student Recreation Center, allows students, staff, and faculty to check out a library for free with display of their campus ID. The SRC also organizes bike rides and events, and helps educate our campus community on bike safety.
