Energize Colleges encourages paid student interns to engage and educate their peers in sustainability practices. The interns are encouraged to do outreach to an average of 40 students and 15 paid student interns participated in the program during the 2017-18 academic year.
Examples of the programs or outreach are: holding garden build and planting days or engaging students in a sustainability pledge.

Students are interviewed and hired for paid internships. They are chosen based on their experience, skills, and most importantly - their passion for environmental sustainability.

Energize Colleges interns engage in independent research and are trained and supported by the Sustainability Coordinator.
