The use of reclaimed water for campus irrigation began in 1965; by 1990, approximately 95% of the campus is irrigated by using reclaimed water to grow tree fruits, vegetables, grains, ornamental plants, and for livestock watering. The irrigation system allows for efficient use of domestic and reclaimed water.
