Yes

A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:

The Student Development Leadership Institute (SDLI) offers a series of leadership development workshops throughout the academic year. This program is open to all students who wish to enhance their leadership skills. Diversity Training is offered as part of the main program as well as in the Multicultural Track.

The Cross Cultural Retreat is an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to experience thought provoking workshops and small group discussions about cross cultural issues while striving towards building community. A unique program at Cal Poly Pomona, the Cross Cultural Retreat provides an opportunity for honest dialogue about issues related to diversity, social justice and building effective alliances across cultures.

The goal of the Diversity Conference is to empower students, faculty, staff and administrators by providing them with tools to build a stronger sense of community and trust amongst individuals of different cultures at Cal Poly Pomona. The keynote, workshops, film and dialogue sessions are designed to bring the campus community together to learn how to listen and respond cross-culturally, so that each individual feels valued, appreciated, supported and acknowledged.
