Graduate students and faculty are actively engaged in research with living roof test cells at the Lyle Center and these living roof test cells are actively included in the public tours provided to over 3,000 visitors annually.

In addition the Lyle Center has a living roof on the Habitat 21 prototype house. This home is integral part of the Lyle Center tour and demonstrates the cooling effects, water conservation and the opportunity for growing food.
