There are requirements as part of the new construction projects contracts that require contractors to reduce/address storm water run off. The campus has a written Stormwater Plan available on the web at http://www.csupomona.edu/~ehs/ftp/StormWaterMgmtPlan.doc. However, the University has turned down requests to fully implement this plan

We have two areas of living roof systems at the Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies. These areas are for both demonstration purposes and research purposes. Graduate students and faculty are actively engaged in research with living roof test cells at the Lyle Center and these living roof test cells are actively included in the public tours provided to over 3,000 visitors annually. In addition the Lyle Center has a living roof on the Habitat 21 prototype house.
