A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
The New Employee Orientation is a great way to connect to campus culture, colleagues and information as new employees (Staff and Faculty*) prepare for a rewarding career at Cal Poly. The orientation provides new employees with important information and connections that will help them thrive — including information about Cal Poly’s mission and values, organizational structure, and benefits and services. Information will be provided by the experts in each area — people who are passionate about helping new employees as they start their new career here.
Sustainability is a key highlight of the orientation day, from zero waste meals to a 20 minute presentation on all things sustainability at Cal Poly.
* New Faculty Orientation runs a similar format to New Staff orientation but only happens once a year in the start of Fall quarter and all new faculty hired in the previous year are invited to attend.
