The Diversity Strategic Framework, published in 2015, is a comprehensive seven-year framework that provides a roadmap to aid in the development of the Diversity Strategic Plan with measurable goals and imperatives developed by the Inclusive Excellence Council

The vast majority (80 percent) of the Cal Poly students, faculty and staff reports being "comfortable" or "very comfortable" with the university's campus climate, and 86 percent of students are satisfied with their academic experience. But 22 percent of the Cal Poly community has experienced some form of exclusionary treatment on campus. The campus leadership has committed to the following priorities to be implemented during the 2015-2016 academic year:
-A comprehensive workplace enhancement strategy that will include an identified place for staff to discuss and report workplace issues; opportunities, along with managerial support, for personal and professional development; and the inclusion of diversity in the evaluation and RPT processes.
-An extended First Year Experience for new students inclusive of diversity education, respect, and civility.
-Optimizing student services through expanding counseling and academic adviser availability.
-Other efforts from the survey data will be prioritized and rolled out as resources become available."
