Does the institution offer at least one immersive, sustainability-focused educational study program that is one week or more in length?:
Yes
A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:
The University Honors Program provides an academically enriched learning experience for the University's most outstanding and highly motivated students. It brings together students, faculty, and friends of the University to seek challenges, participate in experiential and interdisciplinary learning, grow as individuals, and expand the boundaries of their academic potential. As a foundation for the Honors students, all participants are required to enroll in the Honors (HNRS) 100 course which adopts as its focus the university-wide learning objective (ULO), which speculates that every Cal Poly graduate should be able to make reasoned decisions based on an understanding of ethics, a respect for diversity, and an awareness of issues related to sustainability. The University Honors Program represents a campus‐wide program serving students from Cal Poly's six colleges and nearly 60 different majors. Diversity and sustainability themes link well with the program and the HNRS 100 course, as addressing issues and challenges in these areas requires collaboration and sharing of knowledge among multiple disciplines.
