We have standards about the types of chemicals that can be used for cleaning, for student art, in the shops, etc. and we do not allow the more harmful chemicals.
A brief description of how the institution safely disposes of hazardous, universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:
We comply with San Francisco Department of Public Health's Materials and Waste Program standards and have a compliance certificate from HMUPA (Hazardous Materials Unified Program Agency) for our practices in this area.
We have a HMBP that provides an inventory of our hazardous materials and our practices for storage, disposal, and emergency response.
We bring hazardous waste to Recology.
