develop and implement a holistic strategy for staff health and wellbeing,
CU offers a number of health and wellness programs and services to address the needs of faculty, staff, and students. For students, these services are provided by Student Hospital. More information is found in this website:

The university, through the university's medical treatment fund, is responsible for covering any aspects not covered by insurance, and it is also responsible for any excess requirements after exhausting the insurance limit from the health care fund affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education.
Cairo University employees benefit from the benefits of the fund, which are:
1. Complete coverage of examinations in doctors’ and consultants’ clinics and outpatient clinics (including the French Kasr Al-Aini Hospital)
2. All diagnostic reports, medical analyzes and laboratory tests are fully covered.
3. Physiotherapy sessions in approved centers.
4. Admission to major hospitals in all governorates for treatment (including the French Kasr Al-Aini Hospital), performing all examinations, excellent first-class accommodation (single room), and performing surgical operations, including fees for consultants, anesthesiologists, assistants, medications, medical supplies, medical consumables, nursing fees, and hospital stay expenses for a resident patient.
5. Diagnostic and surgical endoscopy.
6. Surgical laser treatment.
7. Day care cases.
8. Ambulances for emergencies and transportation to the hospital only or any other treatment facility, free of charge.
9. Dispensing medications from contracted pharmacies branches spread throughout the Republic.
10. Dispensing chronic and acute medications from contract pharmacies.
11. The scope of coverage within the Arab Republic of Egypt in all governorates for medical centers, laboratories, pharmacies and major hospitals.
12. The company’s medical network covers most of the hospitals and major centers in Egypt. However, for medical services performed outside that network, the member has the right to recover 70% of the value, not to exceed the prices of the Italian Hospital, according to the terms of the concluded contract.
13. This system includes all employees who are still in service. As for pensions and families, they continue to be based on the university’s treatment fund system.
