In 2020, a Sustainability Visioning Committee was formed to develop the strategic plan and goals for five years of sustainability work at CU from 2020-2025. The Sustainability office (SO) was an outgrowth of the University's 2020 Strategic Plan, which identified sustainability as one of CU's core principles. The SO provide strategic oversight of the University’s commitment to sustainability as detailed in CU Strategic Plan 2020-2025. Demonstrate leadership for sustainability by collaborating with key staff across all disciplines to advice on necessary support and resources to improve sustainability performance. The SO also undertake high-level strategic analysis to inform decision-making in the allocation of resources for the implementation of sustainable operations across CU. In addition, SO recommend for approval and drive forward sustainability-related policies, procedures and action plans and support work that are already underway in the development of strategies to engage the campus community and other key stakeholders. The SO oversee the production of interim sustainability reports and report annually to the vice chair of community services and environmental development. The SO established a green office in each faculty and institute of the CU University.
