Prof. Mahmoud Mohieldin, Professor of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Economic Research Association; Chairman of the Middle East Economic Association; United Nations Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; and the 7th UN High-Level Advocate for Climate Change. He actively participated in developing the sustainable development financing policy in Egypt.
-Prof. Dr. Mona Fayed, Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, who currently serves as Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Sustainable Development Affairs, and a member of the Advisory Board of the International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies (IJEMS), and Dr. Asmaa Mohamed Ezzat, Assistant Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, who serves as Head of the Governance Center at the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, and Economic Advisor at the Egyptian Competition Authority, and a member of the Euro-Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies (EMNES), actively participated in identifying policies that focus on studying the main determinants of currency crises, taking into account political economy variables, in addition to economic variables; to assess their role in explaining and predicting the occurrence of currency crises in Egypt.

- CU has participated in the United Nations Partnerships for SDGs platform, demonstrating our commitment at an institutional level to embed the SDGs into our education, research, leadership, operations, administration and engagement activities. More can be read on this here:

Project description:
Inclusion of environmental studies in Cairo University curricula in undergraduate and postgraduate studies.-Organizing environmental outreach programs for neighboring communities all over Egypt.-Participation in regional partnership for sustainable development (Member in the Mediterranean network for sustainable development).-Development of students awareness programs, competitions and project.

- Recentlay CU Joined UNESCO IESALC-UNOSSC South-South University Cooperation Network (SUCN) which focus on enhancing collaboration among higher education institutions in the Global South and promoting sustainable development. Please, see the attached letter for detailed information
