Hand in Hands student group that established specially to serve the needy in Ramadan: Students usually buy basic food products in bulk during the holy month of Ramadan every year, then divide them into equal packages and then distribute them to workers and employees in different colleges.
Team We Are One: In cooperation with the Clothing Bank, the students collect used clothes and work to re-clean them and provide them to the needy from the villages surrounding the university by participating in the caravans

CU annually participates in sustainability Day (October), Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Planting
(February) and Earth Day (April), all of which typically feature many events on campus. Sustainability Day involved lunching of sustainability competition under the title of Cairo University and the prospects for sustainability. Earth Day since 2016 has progressed into Earth Month, which is kicked off by Earth Festival. Earth Festival brings together around campus and community organizations, as well as campus artists and musicians to lead activities that engage and educate the Emory community. The multitude of events happening throughout April are collected and published in the Earth Month calendar. In addition CU lunched also Environmental Awareness Week every week. In addition, as opportunities arise, the Office of Sustainability (OSI) hosts lectures and seminars for students and the
general public.
Cu holded also the Drinking water seminars between pollution and poisoning each year. In addition the CU celebrate my the World Environment and Green Economy Day
"Get Green" Initiative
It aims to change behaviors, spread environmental awareness, and urge citizens, especially young people, to participate in preserving the environment and natural resources to ensure their sustainability in order to preserve the rights of future generations. The initiative also aims to spread awareness of the preservation and management of natural reserves according to international standards, in order to ensure the preservation of the balance of ecosystems and to maximize opportunities for economic and social development. The initiative launched by the Ministry of Environment raises awareness of the importance of afforestation, recycling of waste, rationalizing food and energy consumption, reducing the use of plastic, preserving marine creatures, reducing air pollution, and protecting nature reserves.

In March 2018, as part of Climate Week, sustainable development and waste recycling symposium was hold to produce educational aids for children. The symposium included two topics
1- Sustainable development and how to conserve natural resources and rationalize consumption
2- Recycling waste to produce educational aids for the child
- Celebration of the World Mental Health Day and in line with the efforts of Cairo University for sustainable development

Cairo University launches different comprehensive development convoys in Giza Governorate, within the framework of activating the university’s service and development role towards society and the surrounding environment in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and within the “Dignified Life” initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic to develop the Egyptian countryside and support the most needy villages.
The first convoy will depart on Tuesday, November 16, to the village of Mit Qadous in Abu Nomros, and the second convoy will depart on Tuesday, November 23, to the village of Umm Khanan in Hawamdiya, and the third convoy on November 30 to the Badrashin Center.
The three convoys include a group of distinguished cadres in various specialties from the faculties of medicine, dentistry, the Institute of Oncology, pharmacy, nursing, veterinary medicine, science, agriculture, the poison center, kindergarten, and archeology, in addition to cadres from the anti-addiction fund, to provide services Various medical and surgical operations, provision of medical supplies and medicines free of charge, and transfer of critical cases to Cairo University hospitals.
Comprehensive medical convoys will provide their medical services through detection, surgical operations and treatment free of charge. Kindergarten teachers will educate school children about good behavior and organized scientific thinking with the aim of developing their creative abilities, explaining that the distinguished medical staff from the Poison Center will educate and educate citizens. Safe handling methods in case of exposure to poisoning resulting from inhaling household chemicals.

The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector adopts the "Get Green" initiative launched by the Ministry of Environment within the framework of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development "Egypt 2030". The rights of future generations and awareness of the importance of afforestation, waste recycling, and rationalization of food and energy consumption. The college administration was keen to encourage college students to plant fruit trees in the college yard. Five guava trees and five other lemon trees were planted and the planting basins re-arranged at the entrances to the buildings.
