My country's reserves
A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
Cairo University provides support services to help students who are encountering difficulties, and it funds a number of successful programmes to enable students to be trained to support their fellow students in a peer to peer methodology. One such programme is “My Reserves” initiative, in cooperation with the German Hans Seidel Foundation in Egypt, with the aim of raising awareness and enhancing community participation about the importance of Egyptian natural reserves and ways to preserve them. The “Biladi Reserves” initiative aims to shed light and increase awareness and education about biological diversity within Egyptian natural reserves and the necessity of protecting these natural resources for future generations, noting that the initiative provides a group of educational awareness-raising activities and means, including a magazine, a group of videos, and a podcast to enhance awareness of the importance of reserves. and efforts made to preserve it

A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
It aims to change behaviors, spread environmental awareness, and urge citizens, especially young people, to participate in preserving the environment and natural resources to ensure their sustainability in order to preserve the rights of future generations. The initiative also aims to spread awareness of the preservation and management of natural reserves according to international standards, in order to ensure the preservation of the balance of ecosystems and to maximize opportunities for economic and social development.

All students, faculty and staff of Cairo University are targets for this program. We recruit students from across the University's academic units, so that they can educate their peers in their respective schools and departments.

Sustainable Universities
Cairo University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, launches the first phase of the “Sustainable Universities” initiative in light of the principle of the right to development issued by the United Nations General Assembly in 1986, which is the declaration that enshrines development as a human right and stresses the importance of the active participation of all citizens in Achieving development and enjoying its fruits without discrimination. The initiative aims to activate the university’s role in community development at the local and national levels, raise awareness among students about sustainable development issues and encourage them to carry out activities aimed at serving the goals of sustainable development.
