Green Cities, Planning& Design
A brief description of the graduate-level degree program:
The program of "Green Cities Planning and Design - GCPD" is offered by the Faculty of Regional and Urban Planning (FRUP) as one of the applied engineering science faculties under the jurisdiction of Cairo University and the engineering sector of the Supreme Council of Universities.
Students fulfilling program requirements are granted a Bachelor of Regional and Urban Planning – with emphasis on "Green Cities Planning and Design”.
Graduates of the 5 years GCPD program are registered with the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate under the "Architecture Division" and are granted membership of the Arab Union of Engineering.

A brief description of the graduate degree program (2nd program):
The course focused on Smart Cities where the students learn how data and information impact the design, sustainability and resilence of future cities. The course also focused on Future Cities as the students understand a city’s people, components, functions, scales and dynamics, as precondition for its sustainable design and management. Quality of Life: Livability in Future Cities, where the students learn how urban planning, energy, climate, ecology and mobility impact the livability and quality of life of a “future city.”

Infrastructure sustainable management through its legal context through applicable laws, regulations, codes, international agreements and conventions, its fair and just cost and pricing policies and principles and service continuity and efficiency with applications to basic resources covering good governance and optimal utilization of such resources.

A brief description of the graduate minor, concentration or certificate:
The environmental planning specialization deals with the protection and stewardship of air, water, land, and other natural resources. Concerns include both the management of natural resources directly, as well as the mitigation of adverse impacts on these resources caused by human settlements and activities. The specialization offers an overview of key environmental issues and provides the theoretical, methodological, and legal background necessary for the planner to have an effective role in dealing with these issues.
