Documentation
Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
Three
A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
We used several methods for data collection. The registrar pulled class data for all classes during our three year time frame. Sustainability courses were identified via key word search in class descriptions and individual review for accuracy by CUES student intern and Assistant Director. A form was developed for faculty to self-identify sustainability classes which was discussed at College meetings and via an email message from the Associate Deans. CUES Assistant Director also emailed individual faculty for class information.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each offering or section of a course was counted as an individual course
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
Through the class pull by the registrar, every individual class was included in the raw data spreadsheet, including multiple offerings of the same course. These duplicates were counted and enumerated in their own column by each sustainability focused or sustainability inclusive class. The multiple course offerings were also included in the overall number of course offerings by the University for consistency in counting.
