Trash Audit
A brief description of the campaign, including how students and/or employees were engaged:
In April 2014, a student team sifted through trash and determined the percentage of trash present in campus dumpsters was actually recyclable. This procedure was repeated the following April to gage how the university's recycling efforts have improved.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
"The existence of recyclables in the trash decreased by 38% (600 pounds in 2014 and 374 pounds in 2015). Food waste in the trash decreased by 73% (600 pounds in 2014 and 163 pounds in 2015)."

The university is working with Green With Indy and GreenCycle to compost food waste left over from the dining halls on campus.
