Yes
Total percentage of students that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation:
76
A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
A traffic study was conducted that included machine (traffic tube) counts of vehicles and manual pedestrian and parking counts on campus. The pedestrian counts were conducted at major intersections that received 149 responses. This info was projected for the entire campus and is the source for the data in this section. Prof Beiler (Civil Eng) has used students over multiple academic years to conduct traffic surveys as part of a class and in 2017 a traffic (parking) study was conducted. Data from these surveys were not available and is not included in this analysis.
Part 2. Employee commute modal split
Yes
Total percentage of employees that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation:
15
A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:
A random survey of 214 faculty and staff responded with the data extrapolated to the campus as a whole. More current information is not available. However, based on the local geography and where employees reside, we believe the current commuting methodology is large.
