Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Academic West LEED O+M / ARC

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Bucknell began working with the USGBC and ARC as a beta test site to improve the Arc platform. Since August 2017, numerous conversations were conducted to make the certification process and online tools more effective. Bucknell has evaluated several improvements to ARC and how it relates to the LEED O&M v4.1 beta standards. The Bucknell Campus Energy Manager presented ARC at a conference Fall 2019 (outside this STARS reporting period). The result of this collaboration has been improvements to the Arc tool so that it can be used as a major data source for potential LEED O+M certifications. Bucknell is also one of the pilot programs for LEED O+M v4.1 and is on track for LEED O&M submission December 2019. The project is tracking at platinum level and is expected to receive that in Spring 2020.

While we list the three impact areas as public and campus engagement and buildings, the areas of measurement and management are waste, water, energy, transportation and human experience. You might even say that wellbeing and work is another area as we are soliciting feedback from occupants about the IEQ and other "Well Building" aspects to continuously try and improve the built environment for occupants.
