Yes

A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:

Bucknell offers several alternative spring break programs that students can join through our Offic of Civil Engagement. These include: The Bucknell Brigade; Twice a year, delegations of students and staff travel to Nicaragua to deliver medicine, to offer translation support and other services at the clinic and pharmacy, and to provide physical labor for projects. The Katrina Recovery Team: As a service-learning course, the aim is not only to perform valuable service, but to educate participants and members of the Bucknell community about both the natural and man-made causes of the catastrophe, and the need to advocate for critical changes in coastal restoration, flood protection systems, emergency preparedness, disaster response, and crisis management. Destination Freedom: While considering current conditions of inequality, students will gain an insight on the historical events and policies which shaped our world today, cultivate an appreciation for civic duty and develop a personal knowledge and commitment to preserve important principles of our heritage. B.A.C.E.S: offers a service spring break trip to the Dominican Republic to help impoverished people. Work on a school, in a health clinic, and at a rural farm have been part of previous trips. There are also 3 week summer abroad courses offered, such as Sustainability in Japan, and the Bucknell in South Africa Social Entrepeneurship course.
