A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
The University as an institution does not typically take public policy stances, but instead, facilitates faculty, student, and staff engagement in public policy through the Bucknell Institute for Public Policy and the Bucknell Center for Sustainability and the environment. Sustainability is one of the five tenants of the campus fundraising campaign. This inclusion, as well as the creation of a Presidential Sustainability Council, demonstrate a commitment to Sustainability that is supportive as a broad, social goal. This commitment has not yet been consolidated into support for specific social policies, or with University-level engagement in public policy debates.
