Our mission is to galvanize a strong, supportive culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship amongst the members of the Bryn Mawr College community and to ensure the inclusion of environmental sustainability in the College’s decision-making processes.
We strive to enable our students, staff and faculty to make meaningful contributions to Bryn Mawr College’s sustainability through interdisciplinary collaboration, community education and academic, extracurricular and professional opportunities.
Our committee meets on a regular basis to support projects and events in the Tri-College Consortium, assess campus-wide progress and periodically report to the president of the College.

The Sustainability Leadership Group (SLG) is responsible for coordinating and implementing sustainability initiative across the College. The group plans initiative and facilitates implementation across the departments. Examples of accomplishments include organizing Earth Week activities, developing educational material, creating and reporting on the Climate Action Plan. The SLG conducted the Carbon Footprint assessment for the college in coordination with the facilities department.

In addition to other responsibilities, the Director of Facilities Services promotes sustainable design and practices and constantly explores opportunities for energy saving and carbon footprint reduction initiatives.
This position is responsible for leading the Sustainability Leadership Group (SLG) that coordinates sustainability planning and implementation across the campus and supports other “green” initiative groups on campus, including student committees.
