Professor Victor Donnay has has collaborated with the School District of Philadelphia in creating their sustainability plan. He was recognized for “capacity building” which related to having helped recruit a number of Bryn Mawr students to work in the district’s sustainability office. In addition, students from Donnay's math modeling and sustainability class partnered with the office to carry out sustainability analyses. In addition, he has received a grant from the National Science Foundation to develop a teacher leadership program in Education for Sustainability for teachers in the school district.
