A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:

Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges have approved a Bi-College Environmental Studies Department and Major that builds from an existing Environmental Studies minor offered through Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges. The Bi-College Department will hire two additional faculty members in Environmental Science during academic year 2017-18 and then begin offering the major starting in academic year 2018-19. Students will continue to be able to participate in the Tri-College minor. Note: the website will be updated during summer 2017.

A brief description of the undergraduate minor, concentration or certificate:

At Bryn Mawr, the Tri-Co Environmental Studies Minor is housed within the Johanna Alderfer Harris Environmental Studies Program. The minor and program bring together scholars and students from across the natural and social sciences and the humanities, allowing students and faculty to explore the interactions among earth systems, human societies, and local and global environments. A central goal for all students completing an Environmental Studies Minor is to become adept at approaching environmental issues from multiple disciplinary perspectives, and to be able to work with others across disciplinary boundaries.
