A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:

The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Environmental Science emphasizes the physical, chemical, and biological sciences, and incorporates coursework in social sciences, history, literature, and business. You will be able to specialize in areas of interest such as ecosystems and biodiversity, environmental analysis and assessment, sustainability and environmental management, and climate change.

Graduates from the Environmental Studies program (major and minors) have gone on to careers in environmental management companies, the solar industry, coastal management agencies, teaching, and GIS applications; or have enrolled in and completed programs in environmental policy, energy management, corporate sustainability, and climate change studies, at Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, and other well-known universities.

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration:

The Environmental Science Concentration and Minor covers topics ranging from biodiversity, toxics management, Geographic Information Systems, conservation, environmental policy, sustainable energy, environmental justice, environmental health, climate change mitigation, coastal resiliency, SDGs, life cycle analysis (LCA) and green technology, thus covering a broad range of topics under the sustainability umbrella.

B.S., Biology Concentration and Minor - Track - Conservation

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration (2nd program):

Within the Biology Concentration or Minor, students can choose the Conservation Biology track, which focuses on biodiversity, forest management, species protection and coastal resiliency, renewable energy and wetlands protection.

Integrated Certificate of Sustainability

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration (3rd program):

The Bryant University Sustainability Committee grants the Integrated Certificate of Sustainability to students who have completed at least four courses with sustainability content, coupled with a service project, internship or project related directly to the application of sustainability principles.

The Integrated Sustainability Certificate seeks to empower students with a deeper understanding of system resilience, development of an interdisciplinary perspective, and acquisition of smart management fundamentals, thus equipping graduates with skills and experiences to lead the transformation to a sustainable global society, environment and economy. The program became active in 2018, and 20 students have now received this Certificate. Applicants are being reviewed for 2022. Details of the program and its design are available on the website.
