Karen Ladley (Coordinator, ACE and Volunteer Programs) said the majority of BCC's volunteers are community volunteers and not students. A volunteer tracks the other volunteers' hours. (telephone call 1/30/2012).
However, all of Brunswick County Early College High School students (330 in 2011-2012 school year) are required to complete 10 hours of community service every month as part of their school's requirements. Brunswick County Early College High School campus in located on Brunswick Community College's main campus.
According to Dr. Edith Lang, "We [BCC]do not have this information in Student Services. The two groups that often do community service are athletics (Robbie Allen) and the learning communities (Robert Rogan or John Gray)."
