"We have a chemical inventory in the science department, but do not have a coordinated effort. Everyone handles there own inventory. Sybil Burgess is the Chemical Hygiene Officer, this is not full-time funded position. Safety inspections are conducted by the Chemical Hygiene Officer. The Environmental Health & Safety Institute from Blue Ridge Community College send their representative to inspect our campus for chemical inventory and safety issues. This service is provided by the community college system to help maintain OSHA safety standards. Every science lab has a BCC Chemical Hygiene Plan. The Chemical Hygiene plans fall under the Campus Safety Office. Information was provide by Dr. Sybil Burgess."
