A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
Brock University’s Department of Geography & Tourism Studies conducted a Brock U-Pass survey in late 2018 to determine student's mode of travel to school. This survey was carried out by Professor Chris Fullerton and two of their students. The survey was statistically significant and had a total of 385 respondents from Brock students. The question Brock students were asked was, “What has been your most common mode of transportation to Brock during the 2018-2019 school year?” The possible answer choices were the following: car driver, car passenger, public transit, walking, cycling, other. From the survey the total percentage of students that use more sustainable commuting options (public transit, walking, cycling) was determined to be 62%.
