Part 3. Minimum total compensation for employees
A brief description of the minimum total compensation provided to the institution’s lowest paid employee or pay grade:
The minimum total compensation is greater than 125% of the local living wage. The lowest pay grade for a regular/permanent employee is $27.11/hour. Benefits are at least 22% of the hourly wage. Not all of the non-monetary benefits are included in the 22%.
The total compensation package includes salary, vacation, statutory holidays, pension, sick leave, an extended health and dental plan that includes vision care, group life insurance, paid maternity and parental leave, professional counselling services, professional development funds, tuition fees waived for BCIT courses and free membership and exercise classes at the Recreation Centre.
