The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals were used as a basis to assess the applicability of a researcher's work. BCIT has an Applied Research branch within the Institution. Although most researchers in this department are non-teaching, these individuals have been included within the inventory but not included in the calculations for Part 2 as it specified "academic departments".
