Does the institution host a peer-to-peer textbook exchange program, textbook lending library, or alternate textbook project?:
Yes

A brief description of the textbook exchange program, textbook lending library, or alternate textbook project:

The BYU Store's Student First guarantee keeps textbooks affordable by matching the lowest price available on the market. It also offers digital versions of many textbooks that are cheaper than printed versions, and it rents some textbooks. BYU students can use the MyBookList service to compare textbook prices, save money, and order and pick up books for free.

Here is the Student First promise, as published online: "The price of higher education has soared for years and the price of textbooks along with it. Nationwide, the overwhelming complaint from students has been that textbook prices are too high. The BYU Store took a bold commitment to slash those prices and save BYU students millions of dollars. We now guarantee the absolute lowest price on every book rented for every class so you don’t have to wonder where the best deals are. Using MyBookList is the easiest way to see or order your textbooks. No more trolling book sites for days, waiting for shipments to arrive, paying for shipping, asking your roommates if they’ve seen your package or wishing you had the actual edition required by the professor. Ordering through MyBookList is simple, easy, and saves you time and money."

Previously, the BYU Store sponsored a free peer-to-peer textbook exchange program that operated like a classified ad system for students selling and buying textbooks. In May 2021, after 15 years, the BYU Store ended the program to devote resources to the Student First program.
