A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:

All new employees and faculty members are directed to BYU's online Welcome Center before their first day. The website provides information about BYU's partnership with the Utah Transit Authority, which makes local public transit options free with a BYU ID, as well as healthy dining options, employee wellness resources, and more. Other resources are being added as they are developed.

New employees of BYU Grounds, the unit over campus recycling and composting, must complete several sustainability-related training modules during the onboarding process. These online modules teach workers how to recycle, compost, compact cardboard, irrigate, garden, and conduct water audits on campus.
