A brief description of the sustainability newsletter or social media platform:

BYU Sustainability published its first newsletter in September 2021 and has 2,000 subscribers as of May 2024. The newsletter highlights curriculum, initiatives, and individuals that advance sustainability at BYU. It also covers relevant news and events. Consistently, it explores the intersection of faith and sustainability. 


BYU Sustainability is active on Instagram, with 1,800 followers as of May 2024. A sister account is managed by the Student Sustainability Initiative. BYU Sustainabiltiy's YouTube channel features several short videos.

Yes

A brief description of the signage that highlights sustainability features on campus:

Outdoor signage includes the university's bicycle parking and repair maps located throughout campus, recycling guidelines posted near recycling bins and dumpsters, and trailhead restoration markers on Y Mountain, where community members are invited to learn about native plants and assist with watering efforts at the trailhead. Additional signage is being planned for other sustainability features on campus.

BYU's Geospatial Services and Training Lab developed a campus sustainability map with recycling points, bike parking, and more. The map continues to be refined and improved.

Yes

A brief description of the guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:

BYU Sustainability's Green Guide was created by student employees to provide information about recycling, transportation, and dining on campus and off. The guide will be updated annually.
