A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:

We used the percentage of students that live on-campus vs. the percentage of students that live off-campus. The reality is that the percentage of our students that walk, bike or use other non-motorized commuting methods is probably even higher that listed, as many of the students that live off-campus live within close walking distance to campus and don't drive. Student parking is very limited and is located primarily on the perimeter of campus, so it would not save much time, if any, for many of our off-campus residents to dive a vehicle to campus.
