Dining Service facilitates a student-based “Tray Optional” program that uses marketing and peer dynamics to influence behavior in the direction of dining without a tray. An estimated 60% of students dine regularly without a tray. During first year orientation, many meals are served trayless in hope that students will not condition themselves to dining with trays.
