Does the institution have a wilderness or outdoors program that organizes hiking, backpacking, kayaking, or other outings for students and follows Leave No Trace principles?:
Yes

A brief description of the program:

The Bowdoin Outing Club is the largest club at Bowdoin, offering a wide variety of trips. All trip leaders must go through a training program that includes a section of Leave No Trace and having low impact while enjoying the outdoors. Furthermore, the outing club puts on service and ecology oriented trips each year. Every incoming student is now required to participate in an orientation trip with either the Outing Club or the McKeen Center for the Common Good, some of which focus on sustainability.
