A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
Bowdoin College encourages all staff members to grow and develop in their jobs by participating in workshops, conferences, training programs and other professional development opportunities. The College offers many such programs on campus throughout the year. These programs are offered at little or no cost to employees or departments and are offered by Human Resources, the Library and other College departments. Individual departments also offer their own in-service training programs for their employees. The Human Resources office also offers sexual assault prevention and anti-harassment training. Announcements are typically sent through campus mail or e-mail, and advance registration may be required. Supervisors can arrange for release time so employees can attend the programs of interest.
