Does the institution use motion, infrared, and/or light sensors to reduce energy use for lighting in at least one building?:
Yes

A brief description of the technology used:

Bowdoin utilizes several time of lighting controls to reduce energy use.
Bowdoin uses occupancy sensors in places like restrooms, classrooms, and library stacks as part of a lighting control system which turns off lights in offices and classrooms when not occupied.

Bowdoin utilizes day-lighting controls in many building spaces that have ample daylight (i.e. hallways and stairwells) by shutting lights off when it is sunny outside, but turning them on at night and on cloudy/rainy days.
