A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:
The CRC is a Bronze corporate member of Bluebikes. Faculty, Staff, and Students are eligible for a subsidized annual Bluebikes membership of $73.50/year compared to the full cost of $129/year. There are 380+ stations and 3500 bikes throughout the metro area, including 6 stations on the Charles River Campus and 1 on the Boston University Medical Campus.

A brief description of the car sharing program:
Boston University supports car sharing through its partnership with Zipcar, where students, faculty, and staff can receive discounted memberships. Seven Zipcar vehicles are located on the Charles River Campus with 2 more located on the Medical Campus.
Members can choose between hybrids and other low emissions vehicles, all of which have been SmartWay Certified by the Environmental Protection Agency. Students, faculty, and staff can join Zipcar for only $35 per year, pay no application fee, no monthly minimum, and no membership deposit.

Yes

A brief description of the incentives for fuel efficient vehicles:
We currently have 5 spaces reserved for low emission vehicles in our Kenmore parking lot as well as 7 spaces reserved for these vehicles in our CAS lot on the Charles River Campus.

At Boston University Medical Center, on the first level of the 610 Albany St. Garage, there are designated gated parking spaces available for carpool, vanpool and hybrid cars. Users need to register for access to the area.

Does the institution have one or more Level 2 or Level 3 electric vehicle recharging stations that are accessible to student and employee commuters?:
Yes

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:
On the Charles River Campus, there are 9-Dual ChargePoint EV Stations located in seven different parking lots, allowing for up to 18 vehicles to be charged at any given time.

At Boston University Medical Center (BUMC), there are 11-Dual ChargePoint EV Stations allowing for up to 22 vehicles to be charged at any given time. These stations are located within the 610 and 710 Albany St. garages.

A brief description of the incentives or programs to encourage employees to live close to campus:
The Office of Rental Property Management offers and promotes on campus housing to faculty and staff. A free BU Shuttle Service, discounted MBTA passes, and discounted Hubway and Zipcar memberships (both having multiple stations and locations on campus) are a few incentives and programs offered to encourage employees to live close to campus.

Yes

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:
Boston University promotes bicycling as a safe and easy means of transportation by offering employees incentives and safety products such as free lights, bells, and helmets. We also offer a Bicycle Commuter Reimbursement Benefit whereby employees receive $25/month in reimbursement for bike-related expenses for every month during which bicycling was their primary mode of commuting.
