Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Widening the Lens on Innovation for Green Manufacturing

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The Widening the Lens on Innovation for Green Manufacturing was a research project headed by Boston University's Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS). The project produced an open access workshop series and a report for policymakers to inform a U.S. manufacturing innovation agenda that is compatible with climate change policies and a carbon-free economy. The project sought to bring under-appreciated opportunities for clean manufacturing innovation to greater prominence with the goal of shaping the climate and manufacturing policy agenda.

Notably, the project led to a Congressional briefing in April 2021 discussing how the United States can successfully incentivize cutting-edge clean energy investments in a future infrastructure package. The briefing included opening remarks from Senator Ed Markey and Congressman Sean Casten and featured the ISE's director, Peter Fox-Penner, as a speaker. Released in June 2021, the resulting report was jointly published by the Boston University Institute for Sustainable Energy, Fraunhofer Center for Manufacturing Innovation at Boston University, and the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation.
