Boston University's Equal Opportunity Office provides formal training for faculty and staff on sexual harassment, discrimination, and other EO topics. Training is offered on a regular basis through the Get Trained! Series of professional development workshops provided by Human Resources. We also offer this training to departments and other groups upon request. Students: The Howard Thurman Center offers a number of cultural competence and self-assessment activities to students throughout the year. The Center's staff also hosts training for constituents when asked (i.e. Student Government). In addition, during orientation for incoming undergraduate students, there is at least hour dedicated to cultural competency activities. URL: https://www.bu.edu/thurman/ Associate Provost for Diversity & Inclusion, Crystal Williams, has begun work to ensure that departmental search committees have the training and support to succeed at finding, evaluating, and attracting scholars of color.
