A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:
On the Charles River Campus, the data is based upon calculation of permit and T-Pass registration figures divided by total number of students. The Medical Campus' system for tracking student commuting is based on data tracking excel spreadsheets compiled using information from registration of transportation-related programs.
