The Institute for Sustainable Energy was established in 2016 as a resource for Boston University to assist in facilitating the transition into a climate-safe, global energy system. It focuses particularly on the electric industry transformation, global climate change, and sustainable cities. The ISE’s mission is to “ensure that the energy systems of the world provide abundant, sustainable, and universally accessible energy services to both emerging and advanced economies.” To effect this goal, the group is committed to promoting and assisting faculty in their research on sustainable energy.
