A brief description of the institution’s indoor air quality program(s) (including information about regular auditing or monitoring, mechanisms for occupants to register complaints, and action plans):
Boston University's Environmental Health and Safety Department has Industrial Hygienists on staff who conduct Indoor Air Quality assessments for University students, faculty and staff. Many areas where chemicals or hazardous materials are used receive regular exposure monitoring and ventilation system checks. Investigations involving building materials, ventilation, temperature, humidity and water damage are conducted routinely in response to occupant complaints or concerns. EHS works closely with the Facilities Management and Planning Department to resolve these issues, and to promote effective design in new spaces so that Indoor Air Quality is not compromised in the future.
